The field engineer reports to the Manager of Field Engineering. The position is assigned to plant and/or pipeline related facilities projects that require engineering expertise including but not limited to plant optimization, operational efficiencies, scope development, project execution and process safety management activities. The role ensures that projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company’s Engineering guidelines and specifications, industry codes and standards, and regulatory agency requirements to meet necessary functionality and performance requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering – Chemical or Mechanical is preferred.
• 2 - 5 years prior work experience in a plant and/or pipeline Field Engineering role is required.
• Proven ability designing and constructing engineering projects ensuring Engineering guidelines and specifications, industry codes and standards, and regulatory agency requirements is required.
• Engineering expertise including but not limited to plant optimization, operational efficiencies, scope development, project execution, and process safety management activities is required.
• Working knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook) is required.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers at all levels within an organization.
• Proficiency in database and CAD programs preferred.
• Project Management skills preferred.
• Experience with plant simulation software preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 50% is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures that projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company’s Engineering guidelines and specifications, industry codes and standards, and regulatory agency requirements to meet necessary functionality and performance requirements.
• Provides technical support to the Company’s operations.
• Plan, organize, and manage capital projects.
• Perform and check design calculations and equipment sizing.
• Perform Plant Optimization Studies (Surveillance) to determine if existing assets are performing to expectations.
• Prepare project design scopes in support of commercial development.
• Prepare bid packages for equipment and outside services including engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Participate in reviews of designs prepared by outside engineering contractors, vendors, fabricators, and manufacturers.
• Monitor and inspect field construction activities to ensure compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates and schedules.
• Prepare project completion documentation, including construction material inventories and as-built drawings.
