Geophysicist Advisor
The Morrow Group has an immediate opening for a Geophysics Advisor in Saudi Arabia.
Our Client serves the oil & gas industry in developing reservoir-driven solutions covering the full asset life cycle, from the earliest phases of project development through abandonment. Responsibilities
Perform technical analysis and studies related to UR geophysical assessments in KSA:
– Regional geological/geophysical evaluation of unconventional plays.
– Play and prospect generation and risk evaluation
– Geophysical support for an unconventional play or development
– Borehole, micro and surface seismic design, processing and interpretation
– Has strong fundamental geophysical interpretation skill set, including well to seismic correlation, seismic mapping, velocity model building, depth conversion, 3D visualization, reservoir properties from seismic (RPFS) work flow, AVO analysis, acoustic and elastic inversion and survey design.
– Structural characterization of faulted, naturally fractured reservoirs
– Seismic sequence stratigraphic analysis
– Advanced seismic attributes, AVD, inversion, sweet-spot detection skills
– Geohazard avoidance during drilling
– Geochemistry, petroleum systems and basin modeling
– Log analysis and interpretation in unconventional reservoir
– Reservoir characterization in unconventional hydrocarbons plays (tight gas, shale gas, unconventional oil, and/or coal bed methane)
Demonstrated ability to integrate 3D seismic, geological/well data, and production data to characterize reservoirs and reduce uncertainties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or a related science as appropriate to the required discipline. An advanced degree is preferred and will reduce prerequisite work experience stated below by one year for master degree and two years for PhD.
Experience
A minimum of 15 years of related experience within the oil/gas industry, with at least 5 years of this experience in unconventional hydrocarbon basins. Prior consulting/secondment experience a plus.
Skills
Advanced knowledge and application of geophysical principles. Good working knowledge of BHI products and services. Excellent client relations, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; a real team player.
Software Skills
Strong geophysical workstation skills.
Duration
Full-time permanent. 2-3 year expatriate assignment
