Description:
Job Title Senior Buyer Job Description Responsible for activities involved with the procurement of all equipment and materials in support of MAP’s business activities including but not limited to proposals/tendering and project execution in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and ethical standards. Visits vendors on a planned basis for the purpose of keeping abreast of their capabilities, new products and interfacing with their management personnel. Develops and maintains a commercially sound vendor base, surveys the market for new supply sources including non-traditional suppliers and assists in maintaining MAP’s “Approved Vendor Listâ€. Helps develop project “Approved Vendors Listâ€. Pre-qualifies vendors, if required, to obtain internal and client approval to use “new†vendors. Performs the “RFQ†process and assist the expediting process. Initiates and establishes purchasing agreements for key commodities, where possible. Conducts surveys and market studies to determine price levels, trends, business activities and availability of products. Provides guidance to user departments. Resolves delivery non-conformance issues, if required. Regularly exchanges information on new products and sources, market trends and lessons learned with other MDR entities. Supervises, directs, assists, trains and coordinates activities of assigned procurement personnel. Participates in the production of a monthly market watch report (if required). Travel Up to 25% Job Type Regular Date Required Job Requirements Education: Degree/ Diploma qualifications in Engineering or related a discipline. Experience: Minimum 10 years relevant experience within the Oil & Gas industry. Qualifications: Billingual in Spanish is a must. Understands the procurement and project execution processes needed to successfully deliver required project results. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to handle problems effectively and make appropriate trade-offs that lead to sound decisions. Ability to leverage organizational resources to accomplish goals. Computer literate.
